Baidu Announces Mobile Operating System, branches off Android




Baidu, a chinese search engine operator is looking to enter into the mobile market by announcing it’s Baidu Yi Operating system that runs a variant of Android.






This move is expected as Baidu takes about 80% share of search market in China.

It is expected to have support for cloud storage, native maps, reader, web apps and music.

Since Baidu is also entering a mobile phone eco-system that already consists of Android, iOS, Windows Phone 7, Bada OS and WebOS we wait to see what will be the outcome of this new move.
